Woodhouse Grove is an independent 3-18 co-educational day and boarding school between Leeds and Bradford striving to fulfil the potential of every child, not only through academic subjects but through cultural, sport and arts interests. Founded in 1812 by the Methodist Conference, Woodhouse Grove is divided into three sections: Ashdown Lodge for 3 to 7 year old children, Bronte House for 7 - 11 and the Senior School 11 - 18; pupils may board from 8 years old.
Set in a picturesque location on the Aire Valley, Woodhouse Grove offers many opportunities to its pupils via its many facilities. The latest computer-based technology complements the excellent sports pitches; tennis, squash and all-weather courts, swimming pool, indoor cricket nets and gymnasium; the music department offers a wide range of instrumental tuition, orchestras and choirs, and drama covers a wide spectrum annually.
We offer continuity of learning from nursery to the threshold of university and career. Day pupils and boarders alike enjoy the extensive facilities and special atmosphere. With 800 pupils we are large enough to provide a full curriculum and wide range of activities under the guidance of well-qualified teachers but small enough for each pupil to be known well and to make their mark.
We hope that our pupils will go into a world of opportunity with the confidence born of achievement in the range of activities open to them, and with the strength of character developed by their sustained exposure to challenges and experiences in a caring and secure setting.
